Derek: CEO

Derek graduated from Rose-Holman in 2019 where he obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering and was a member of ROTC. After graduating, he commissioned as an active duty officer in the Army and moved to El Paso, TX where he served for 3 years at Fort Bliss and 1 year in Korea. While in TX he obtained his real estate license and his interest in realty and contracting became his passion. Upon getting out of the army, Derek and his wife moved back to Indiana. He started this company along with Ryan in 2024 after working together on a flip-house project. He credits his years at Rose-Hulman for his growth in design, the Army for his leadership skills, and experience in construction for his contracting skills. Derek and his wife have 3 girls and live on a small hobby farm in the country. His favorite part about White Rock is the overall great work culture.
Ryan: COO

Ryan acquired his carpentry and construction skills from years of working before and after high school. Once he finished high school he joined a trade and worked in carpentry. Ryan is the Chief Operations Officer – “COO”. He has been with White Rock since the very beginning in 2024. Ryan says his favorite thing about working for White Rock is that he loves the culture of the company and enjoys improving other people’s homes to help make the world a better place.
Jacob: Lead Carpenter

Jacob has worked in construction since high school, learning carpentry skills while working different side jobs. After high school he joined the Marine Corps where he was active duty for 4 years. After serving he went on to join the union as a carpenter where he continued to grow in his skills. Jacob has worked for White Rock for 2 years. He says his favorite thing about working for the company is “that it is a tight knit group. No one is power-hungry or controlling. Everyone can talk to anybody about anything as a friend.” In Jacob’s free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.
Jimmy: Crew Lead

Jimmy is one of the Crew Leaders at White Rock Contracting. Out of high school, Jimmy worked in trades, specifically in mechanics and construction. Over the years, he has acquired many valuable skills, his willingness to do or learn anything has not only allowed him to learn these skills, but it allows him to continue learning and growing making him a very valuable asset to our team. Jimmy has worked for White Rock for a year and a half. He says that his favorite thing about working here is getting to use all of the skills that he has learned over the years in new ways. The jobs are always different, even if we are doing the same thing. He also says that the coworkers are pretty cool too! In his free time, Jimmy enjoys riding four wheelers and motorcycles, building computers and RC cars, racing, spending time with family, and paintball.
Sam: Tile Installer & General Contractor

Sam is one of our newest employees. Upon obtaining his AAS, Sam went straight into trades where he has continued to acquire many skills. Years of observation, hands on experience, professional training, and mentorship have helped him to move forward in contracting over the years. Sam says his favorite thing about working for White Rock is that he feels valued as an employee and that there is opportunity for growth within the company. In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with his family.
Bryce: Laborer

Bryce is a student at ISU studying construction management. He has worked for White Rock for two summers. Bryce works as a laborer for the company, gaining experience and knowledge by working on many different jobs. He says his favorite thing about working for White Rock is when he gets to go on break for lunch. In his free time, Bryce enjoys golfing.
